The Committee had a meeting 19th May to discuss the NRD for 2021.

There is still a lot of uncertainty around the pandemic and how regulation will be in October 2021. It is, however, possible that regulation will be less strict but much might still prevail both in Denmark and in many other countries.

From 20 May Hotel Admiral requires that a non-refundable deposit has to be paid in order to keep the reservation. Due to this it was decided to cancel the Nordic Reinsurance Days also for 2021 with a strong hope that 2022 will be a more normal year and that we will be able to meet again.
To enable this, premises at Hotel d’Angleterre and Moltkes Palae and rooms at Hotel Admiral have been reserved for 3 – 5 October 2022.

The Committee is the first to regret this decision but it was felt that there was no alternative.

Copenhagen, May 2020

Dear Nordic Reinsurance Days Friend and Participant,

As you are aware, most countries have implemented various types of restrictions in an effort to control the COVID-19 situation. While many countries are loosening up some of those regulations, it is hard to predict which restrictions (concerning e.g. travel and larger events) might still be in force in October this coming autumn.

Due to this uncertainty, we at the Organizing Committee have therefore decided to cancel the 2020 Nordic Reinsurance Days event in Copenhagen. Or rather, postpone the next “face-to-face” NRD conference until October 2021. The safety and wellbeing of all attendees is very important for us, at the same time, we remain very committed to reorganizing this event physically in Copenhagen 2021, and are all very much looking forward to welcoming you back then.

As regards current year 2020, please note the following:

  • You will not be receiving the usual NRD invitation or registration packet.
  • Naturally, no hotel reservations will be arranged for you.
  • We warmly recommend, however, that all of you (whether ceding company/ reinsurer/ broker) will endeavour to organize as many Nordic Reinsurance Days appointments as possible as virtual (Teams) on-line meetings!
  • If you have any practical questions, please address those to Jette Rasmussen of Chaucer –

Thank you very much for your understanding — and please stay healthy!
